Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.
2 Corinthians 3:5 – 6
Paul speaks of confidence. That means that we are sure of something. He then switches to the word “Competence.” It means “the ability to do something successfully or efficiently.” Paul makes it clear that we as believers in Jesus do not claim that we are, in ourselves, competent. God makes us so. Confidence and competence are twins, both wonderful gifts of the Spirit.
Our confidence comes from God. And (God) has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant.
As I see it, the point is that God gives us the ability to believe that He will do what He has promised! We cannot. He can. That is good news, indeed.
Confidence/Competence……not of us/competence only in Christ…..good news well spelled out.

Thanks, Gene, for your comment, lovely, but most for your fellowship for these many years. Even though we are not spending a lot of time together, we share our love for each other and the Lord, whom we serve..
