Splintered pignut hickory tree.

I was amazed, yesterday, to learn that pignut hickory trees are pink striped inside. The wind blew this giant tree over along Mill Stream in the East Lampeter Park.

This is beautiful. Will you be able to make anything out of it like a bowl or something?

So good to hear from you, our dear Nancy. Thanks for your nice reply. I do love working with wood as you well know but that tree will probably be turned into mulch!!! Ugh!

Anna Ruth and I are well and happy, she 89 and I 88. How about that?

Hi, my dear Nancy. So good to hear from you. Our minds go back, Anna Ruth’s and mine, when we had marvelous moments with you. God-given joy.
We are doing well – for old codgers. God is so good. One might have thought that after a super-active life we would feel hemmed in. Not a bit of it. We are content and rely completely on his grace that sustained us and will sustain us forever.

Hi to you Mother and Father, whom we remember well.

    Do visit us!!

Your suggestion of a bowl is intriguing. That would be super nice. I will make it in my head!!
