“They pour new wine into new wine skins, and both are preserved.”

Jesus used the question about fasting to reveal a deeper level of reality.  No matter how precious the new cloth and the new wine, both will be degraded if there are not new ways to contain these precious things. The new wine skin is the new, expanded way of thinking the thoughts of God – a new and accurate view of the world. This we receive as a gift, precious beyond imagination.
