This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:22-24

It has been a while since I thought about one of God’s greatest to us, in Christ.  It is, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.”

Paul is assuring the believers in Rome, and for all in all time as well, that the righteousness that we seek is not earned but simply received through faith in Christ. No race has an advantage here. All sinners, including me and you and Paul himself, come the same way no matter what our tribe or status.  God’s righteousness is a gift of his grace, that was perfected in the redemptive work of Jesus.

The ground is level here.  We all plead the merits of the finished work of Jesus and we are all included in the household of faith that is marked by God’s freely given righteousness.

All who believe are saved.  That is God’s promise and has nothing to do with what we may think!  God’s grace is grace indeed, free and available.
