And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:13, 14

This is me!  And you.  Not of the tribe of Judah, assuming we are Gentiles!  We had no right to even imagine that we could be included in those who were saved, loved, nurtured and blessed by Christ Jesus, by our loving Lord.  As I read this I am aware that the people Paul is mentioning are Greeks!  They heard the message of truth, the gospel of their salvation, and they believed- without any reference at all to Jewish heritage. This heralds a new day in heaven and on earth.  Now, because of the redemption that Jesus earned by his life, death and resurrection, any human being can be saved and live a holy life, not matter what tribe, language or culture or nationality.

Included in their salvation is the promise of their inheritance – redemption, making them God’s children – without regard to being Jew, Greek, or anything else, for that matter.

So, what is our response?  A heart-felt praise, to the praise of his glory, nothing less.

I need to be reminded of this every day.  It matters not who we were, it matters eternally who we have become in Christ Jesus, our blessed Lord and Savior.  This binds us with all believers, now and forever!  Heaven is for all of us.
