I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”
Revelation 22:8, 9
“WORSHIP GOD!” Great advice.
I adore many things. For instance, I find that my heart leaps at things eternal. I muse on my experiences, and the experiences of others. I love History and what it teaches. I embrace the stories of those who have learned to walk with God.
I experience the divine presence as I ponder his amazing universe that I inhabit.
I am overcome with the wisdom that has come to me through others. I can list a thousand things that I love.
But what, my soul, is the greatest?
The answer is as profound as it is simple. The greatest thing a human being can do is to WORSHIP GOD!
The Holy Spirit directs John, having seen God, to stop writing! Enough for now, John! Get on with living considering what you have seen and heard.
As John, I embrace Jesus as He embraces me. There is no higher purpose in life. All we do grows from that.
