That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 1:19 – 20
Soul, take a deep breath and slowly take in this most amazing fact. The power of Jesus Christ among us is the same power that he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms. If that mighty power is in us, in reality, then why should we fear and dread or just stand there in unbelief and nothing happens! Why are we so slow to believe this?
It raised Christ from the dead and seated him at God’s right hand in heaven. Think of it – from the lowliest of positions, dead in a dark Jerusalem tomb, to now seated with God in heaven, in the fulness of his glory! Where did the power to do that come from? That is what Paul is trying to get us to understand, it is the same power that raises us from sin and death and gives us new hope in Christ with whom we are now united.
Why am I so slow to believe that? And, why am I lifted into new heights of joy when that life-giving power stirs, shakes and astounds me?
Thank you, Jesus, for who you are and what you have done to make this miracle possible!
