Mallards are now sporting fresh wing speculums, flashing dark blue outlined in white. They are paired up and looking for nesting sites. Our wee ponds deserve a visit!  I think mallards, as common as they are, are just plain beautiful.  The picture would have been nicer had the sun been shining.  Anyway, you get the idea.  Spring is just around the corner.
