To the Nations!

“They will proclaim my glory among the nations.  And they will bring all your people, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord—on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the Lord. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the Lord in ceremonially clean vessels.”

As I read the prophesies of Isaiah, when he refers to Jerusalem or the nation of Israel, I know that the reference is to the followers of Jesus Christ today, from every tribe and nation on the earth. Isaiah 66

Now the point of activity of the people of the Lamb are myriad in numbers – surrounding our planet and pushing, ever pushing gently into new spiritual dry places among the children of man.

My wife’s niece and husband, Dr. Phil and Linda Byler, left U S a day or so ago to return to Sudan to head up a team of ten persons to evangelize an ethnic group of many thousands in Southern Sudan among whom there are no churches or fellowships of believers at all, at least until now!  The plan of God is working, 2,000 years after Jesus earned Atonement for all peoples. This a miracle of grace in our times.

Sometimes I despair, thinking that we, the followers of Jesus, have very limited vision for walking with Him in new areas of the world, pointing men and women to Jesus and encouraging fellowships of believers to form and to love one another in their outreach to the lost.

If our missionary vision fades God mourns.
