I find the gladiola to be one of my favorite flowers. Hope the pictures do not weary you.  I just snapped this picture. Here it is – male and female – sperm and ovum, the endless rhythm of enduring life, beautifully arranged and as overwhelming as a breath-taking winter sunset. The symmetry, the complementary colors, the innocent invitation to life is almost more that I can take in.
