Matthew 11:25

“You have revealed them to little children.”

Matthew and his disciple friends heard Jesus praying in light of the fact that people generally were astonished by his miracles but refused to believe that he is God in the flesh. He prayed, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children.”  Am I a little child who is prepared to be taught or a hardened adult that has long since closed the mind?

At this point we gaze at the mystery of how God works, awestruck.  Such anomalies or miracles drive us to faith – if not to understanding!  God is God, and he and Christ and the Holy Spirit are one.  Only those in whom the Spirit dwells can understand the awesome grace of God.  For those, there is a calming of the heart
